Exploring Opportunities in the Space Industry at the Tech Needs Discovery Event

Last week, MicroAlign had the opportunity to present at the Tech Needs Discovery Event organized by  NL SpaceCampus

It was our first time stepping into the space industry—exploring opportunities and having first introductions with Dutch companies in the industry. One key takeaway was recognizing that integrated photonics is not yet widely spread in the space industry though it enables new applications. Combined with our high-accuracy-fiber arrays sensitivity of integrated-photonics-based sensors could be improved even further.

It was also confirmed that developing and testing our fiber arrays at cryogenic temperatures, essential for quantum photonic sources and detectors, is required for space applications as well.

Contact us if you develop a cryogenic integrated photonic application and are looking for cooperation for instance within EU-project.
