FIT4Q Project Meeting in Bremen

FIT4Q Project Meeting in Bremen

On October 6th, 2025, Photonics Foundry hosted the second in-person meeting of the Trilateral FIT4Q project at their facilities in Bremen.

The project’s goal is to reduce fiber-to-PIC coupling loss by improving the alignment accuracy between fiber and waveguide, a key step toward advancing scalable photonic integration for quantum technologies.

Each partner contributes their expertise to a specific stage of the process:

• MicroAlign – improving the pitch accuracy of the fiber in an array.

• Aixemtec – advancing fiber-array to PIC alignment accuracy.

• Photonics Foundry – optimizing the fiber-array fixation method for improved alignment accuracy.

• QuiX Quantum – setting performance targets, as in their quantum computers every photon matters.

• Fraunhofer IZM – supporting the consortium with novel packaging technologies and measurement methods.

As part of the meeting, participants toured Photonics Foundry’s cleanrooms to experience their state-of-the-art photonic packaging capabilities firsthand.
