Job Description: MicroAlign is developing revolutionary technology capable of aligning multiple optical fibers within fiber arrays, independently and simultaneously. In 2024 MicroAlign will employ the alignment technology to realize ultra-high accuracy fiber arrays. We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager who will be responsible for driving our fiber array sales development and expanding the company’s global customer base. The Sales Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships, and achieving revenue targets. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales within the photonics industry and in early-phase companies, with a deep understanding of the photonics market dynamics.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company objectives and revenue targets.

  2. Develop the relationship with key customers and market segments within the photonics industry, including telecommunications, sensing, aerospace, and defense.

  3. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers while actively prospecting and acquiring new accounts.

  4. Assess market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.

  5. Prepare and present sales proposals, quotations, and product demonstrations to potential customers.

  6. Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with customers to drive profitable sales growth.

  7. Provide timely and accurate sales forecasts, reports, and pipeline updates to management.

  8. Represent the company at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote brand awareness and generate leads.

  9. Stay up-to-date about the latest advancements in photonics technology and industry trends to effectively communicate the value proposition of our products and solutions.

Qualifications & skills:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or related field. MBA or equivalent qualification is a plus.

  2. Proven track record of success in sales management for early-phase companies within the photonics industry, with a minimum of 5 years of experience.

  3. A deep understanding of the photonics market, customer dynamics, and industry trends.

  4. Strong business acumen with the ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets.

  5. Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with customers at all levels.

  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  7. Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce) and Microsoft Office suite.

  8. Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
