Adoption project progress

The Adoption project is moving forward, and we’re excited to share what’s happening behind the scenes. As part of the demonstrators within the EU hashtagAdoption project (grant 101070178), several PICs have been assembled using MicroAlign fiber arrays.

Due to the specific PIC geometries, top-to-bottom angular polish of the fiber array units was required.

A process we had not implemented before. We’re pleased to share that this polishing approach showed no impact on fiber core position accuracy (< ±100 nm). A first check at the packager indicated good optical connection across all channels.

Following the completion of this demo, more measurements and updates will be provided.
