Our team attended the Adoption project progress meeting in Prague, marking another important step forward for the project.
During the meeting, the team finalized the layout, components, and test protocols for the upcoming demonstrators. In addition, several extra demos were defined to explore specific technical details and support ongoing research, including a dedicated demo based on MicroAlign’s HAFAs attached to an AWG-PIC.
MicroAlign will deliver High Accuracy Fiber Arrays (HAFAs) featuring 8-degree polished facets. These will be handed over to Argotech – Semiconductor photonics, who will now integrate the HAFAs with an AWG based PIC provided by Huawei Germany, assembling them into a packaged photonic module (see picture below).
This will mark the first demonstrator of an assembled photonic module using MicroAlign’s HAFAs, a major milestone for our high-precision fiber alignment technology.
