Can you share who you are and what you do at MicroAlign?

I am a Technical Operator. I make the arrays themselves from start to finish, as well as make sure they meet our high standards!

What’s the hardest part of your job, and what makes it worth it?

The hardest part is, I think, working with the fibers themselves. They are tiny and quite delicate; you have to be careful at all times so you don’t break any.

What surprised you most about working here after you joined?

I have a background in biotechnology, and I was surprised how many of my skills were transferable. Turns out that knowing how to work with microscopic organisms and fragile instruments helps!

What keeps you motivated and energized working here?

Making good arrays, I like when I can feel that I made a good array. When every fiber *aligns* at the end and you can see it…Very satisfying!

What kind of person do you think would love it here?

Someone who is precise and pays attention to the way they work.
